Gymnasium Philippinum Weilburg: Our school !

In the following text we want to present you our school “Gymnasium Philippinum Weilburg”. It was founded in 1540 in Weilburg. At this point of time it was a school for rich boys and it was a latinschool. Today our school counts 127 teachers and circa 1.500 students. You can find it in Weilburg in the Lessingstraße. There are four buildings, one for science, one main building, one for music and art and one for the new pupils. Since spring we’ve got a new cantine. In addition we have two gyms. Near the school there are a swimming pool and the river Lahn. There you do some freetime activities e.g. rowing. At our school you are able to do different acitivities in the afternoon voluntary: Singing, science, orchestra and some more. As a subject you can learn English, French, Latin, Spanish and Russian. There you can make some exchanges with Russia, Kazakhstan, Canada, Spain and France. Our school is a mint-school (Maths, informatics, science and technology) and an environmental school. If you want you can borrow some books at our library. And some students write articles for our school-newspaper. Our A-level we do with G8. And if there are some problems between the students our mediation pupils will help you to solve your problems. Hopefully you know something about our school now, and we hope you´ll enjoy it!
